Jefferson Paul Garey's Obituary
Jefferson “Jeff” Paul Garey, age 54, of Greenwood, DE, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born in Milford, DE, on Thursday, November 7, 1963, son of Helen T. (Schrock) Garey and the late Paul R Garey.
Mr. Garey as a young man started New Image Construction where he served many families across Sussex and Kent Counties for many years. He then worked for Comcast Cable as a Business Services Technician for the past ten plus years. Jeff was an active member of the Eastern Shore Jeep Club and a Jeep enthusiast. He enjoyed time spent keeping his old CJ Jeep in order and time spent on the water. He also enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors, or anyone who needed a helping hand. Most of all, Jeff loved the time spent creating memories with his loving family. Jeff was a loving and devoted companion, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend. His kind heart and sense of humor will always be remembered.
In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his three children: Meagan Garey of Milford, DE, Jordan Paul Garey of Greenwood, DE, and Zachary Garey of Greenwood, DE; his two grandchildren, Adelynn and Auston; his brother, John R. Garey and his wife, Carrie Draper Garey of Dover, DE; his one nephew, Wyeth Garey; and Jeff’s longtime companion, Denise R. Jefferson of Bridgeville, DE.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 South Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow services at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Route 16, Greenwood, DE.
