Jeannette L. Aubrey's Obituary
Jeannette L. Aubrey, age 94 of Lewes, DE passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 31, 1922 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Wilfred and Germaine (Allard) Lavallee.
Jeannette graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Willimansett, MA in 1940. It was there that she met the love of her life, Roger, whom she wed in 1943. Following school, she started her career as a secretary working at various bases including, Bradley Air Force Base in CT, Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, MA, and the last 23 years of her career at Dover Air Force Base. Following her retirement, Jeannette dedicated the remaining years of her life to spending time with family. She particularly cherished summers spent hosting grandchildren and making memories that they all hold dear to this day. She with her husband, enjoyed traveling. Jeannette was the true matriarch of the family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her brother Donald Lavalle, her son James “Jim” Aubrey, and her great-grandson Kayden Jack Benger. She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Roger E. Aubrey; her three daughters: Priscilla Nutter of Bothell, WA, Peggy Fraboni and her husband Ray of Elmira, NY and JoAnn Marvel and her husband Tim, of Lewes, DE; her thirteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Jeannette's memory to the USO at 500 Purple Heart Way, Dover AFB, DE 19902.
