Jeanne Farrell McCarthy's Obituary
Jeanne Farrell McCarthy, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died on Tuesday April 10, 2012 in her home. Mrs. McCarthy was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Dr. Frank R. Farrell and Ellen McGuinness Farrell.
She attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee; taught in Milwaukee, WI; was president of her sorority Kappa Kappa Kappa; and directed a private school in Wheaton, MD for 25 years. She was married to Thomas J. McCarthy who passed away on May 7, 2001. She and her husband retired to Rehoboth Beach in 1989.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Aileen O’Donovan and her husband Patrick of Washington, DC; her son, Timothy James McCarthy of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and two grandchildren: Cormac and Ciaran O’Donovan of Washington, DC.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday April 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, New Castle, DE 19713 or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
