Jeanne T. Champlin's Obituary
Jeanne T. (Wilson) Champlin, age 85, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. She was born October 16, 1923 in Wilmington, DE to the late William and Marie (Linthurst) Wilson.
Mrs. Champlin and her husband relocated to Sussex County from New Jersey in 1973. Prior to moving to Delaware she was a school nurse in NJ and worked for the public health department in PA. She worked as a school nurse at Cape Henlopen Junior High for 10 years before retiring She was an avid knitter and quilter and a member of the Quilting Club at Cape Henlopen Senior Center. She was famous for the Christmas stockings she made for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jesse H. Champlin; daughter, Jessica Smith and her husband George of Florida; two sons: Lawrence Champlin and his wife Mary of Lewes, DE and Charles Champlin of Wilmington, DE; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE. A Chapel Committal Service at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date.
