Jeanette M. Brittingham's Obituary
Jeanette M. Brittingham, age 53, of Georgetown, DE passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. She was born on November 29, 1961 in Ft. Knox, KY, daughter of the late Merrill A. and Elfriede (Schmolka) Rogers.
Jeanette was a talented crafter and excellent cook, who enjoyed hosting family and friends for get togethers. An avid gardener, Jeanette canned most of what she produced, her specialty being tomatoes and pickles. She was a spirited woman who loved being with people, playing pool or singing Karaoke locally.
Jeanette welcomed warm weather and opening the family pool where she would spend many hours swimming and relaxing. She was a warm hearted caring wife, mother, sister and friend. Jeanette was a natural caregiver, which was evident when her Mother became ill. She immediately took the role of Caregiver making certain her Mother was well cared for and comfortable. First and foremost Jeanette cherished every moment spent with her family. Jeanette touched the lives of many and her footprints will be left on the hearts of many.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, Samuel V. Brittingham; a son, Dustin V. Brittingham and his wife Christina of Georgetown, DE; a step-daughter, Samantha Brittingham of Laurel, DE; three grandchildren, Laney Ann Riggleman; Brooke and Carson Brittingham and one sister, Linda Hicke of Germany.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call beginning at 1 PM. Interment will follow services at the Dagsboro Redman Memorial Cemetery, Dagsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803.
