Jeane Marie Wampler's Obituary
Jeane M. Wampler, age 98 of Lewes, DE, went home to be with our Lord on Monday July 10, 2023, at Beebe Hospital in Lewes. She was born on May 4, 1925, in Ocean City, NJ, daughter of the late Abner and Gertrude Smith.
Jeane moved to Lewes in 1990 after residing in Pennsylvania for many years. She enjoyed gardening and baking, nurtured her creative side with painting, and kept active with routine walks. Jeane also volunteered for years at Beebe Hospital. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Jeane was preceded in death by her sisters: Mildred Douthwaite and Dorothy Smith. She is survived by her sons: Stephen Quay (Natasha Synessios) and Timothy Quay, both of London, England and Andrew Quay (Kathy) of Marietta, SC; her grandchildren: Nefeli and Kimon; her stepchildren: Cynthia Toner and Dianne Wampler; and her sister, Helen Smith.
A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeane’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
