Janie Mae Foard's Obituary
Janie M. Foard of Dover, DE passed away at the age of 85 on June 7, 2016 at Bayhealth Milford Hospital in Milford, DE. She born in Chocowinity, NC, daughter of the late James A. Smith and Lillie Chauncey Smith.
Mrs. Foard was the wife of the late James E. Foard, Jr. who were married for 56 years. She was retired from C&P Telephone company of Maryland.
She was active in her church and church auxiliary. A lifetime member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She and husband loved to travel. They visited every state in the union and made several trips to other countries.
She liked working with crafts, following the Baltimore Orioles and NASCAR. She enjoyed eating out with friends especially Chinese food.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foard was preceded in death by her siblings, Myrtie Florence Smith Arnold Parker, Helen Daughton, Andrew Smith, Donald Smith, Arthur Mack Smith, William Thelbert Smith. She is survived by a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 10:30 AM, at Cool Spring Presbyterian Church, 28843 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 9:30 AM.
Friends may also call on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
Additional Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at McComas Funeral Home, Bel Air, MD with interment at William Watters United Methodist Church Cemetery, Jarrettsville, MD.
