Janet Patricia Freay's Obituary
Janet Patricia Wunsch-Freay, 62, of Milton, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2026. She was born on March 24, 1964, in Englewood. She is the daughter of Alda P. Melda and the late Albert H. Wunsch Sr.
Janet was a proud graduate of Roger Williams University, Class of 1986, and went on to build a successful career in the apparel industry, serving as Vice President of Sales at Danskin and Capezio. She was respected for her leadership, work ethic, and ability to connect with those around her.
Above all, Janet cherished her family. She loved being a mother and found her greatest joy in time spent with her children and grandchildren. Whether she was cooking a favorite meal, relaxing at the beach, or simply enjoying time together, she created lasting memories for those she loved. She also had a spirited side—she could often be found driving her red Mustang convertible with the top down, singing along to classic rock. Janet was also a huge fan of Stephen King and had read every one of his books. She was also an avid horror movie fan.
Janet is survived by her son, Antony “Max” Freay, and his wife, Isabella Freay; her daughter, Marisa Janet Freay; her beloved grandchildren, Blaise Freay and Hazel Freay; her mother, Alda P. Melda; and her brothers, Albert Wunsch and David Wunsch.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Anton W. Melda.
Janet will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Services will be held at a later date.
