Jane V. Walker's Obituary
Jane V. Walker, age 78, of Lewes, DE passed away on Wed, October 29, 2014, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes, DE. She was born Tuesday, June 16, 1936 in Bridgeton, NJ, daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (Hackett)White.
Mrs. Walker enjoyed a 30 year career as a secretary with the Delaware State of Delaware Department of Corrections. She was very adventurous enjoying traveling, taking cruises and spending time with her late husband, Harold Walker, on their boat. She was a member of the Women's Club at Epworth United Epworth Methodist Church, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Unity Chapter No. 16. and especially loved being a member of the Red Hats.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dwight Walker in January of 2006. She is survived by her daughter Cindy Woodring and her husband Mark of Long Beach, CA and their children Taylor and Lauren; and her son Brent Hewes of Anchorage, AK. and his children Mackenzie and Jaden Hewes; and her extended family Melinda M. Walker Fitzpatrick and husband Greg and Melissa Walker, both of Georgetown, DE; Dwight Walker and wife Erma of Newark, DE; Kellen and Drue Gromley and Stacey and Alex Fitzpatrick.
Eastern Star Services followed by Christian Services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Walker's memory to Alzheimer's Association, DE Valley chapter, PO BOX 625, Georgetown, DE 19947.
