Jane H. Robson's Obituary
Jane H. Robson, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born March 27, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, NY, daughter of the late Raymond and Florence (Hoffman) Henderson.
Mrs. Robson had a great life growing up in Bronxville, NY. She was a student at Riverdale Country School from Kindergarten through grade 12. Following high school, she attended Northwestern University in Chicago where her education was interrupted by World War II. During the War, she went to work for the Broadway USO in New York City. After the War, she married her former and late husband, Robert M. Robson and relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where she raised her family. In 1975, she moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was a volunteer who always worked for the greater good of her community. While living in New York, she was a member of the Bronxville Junior Woman’s Club and, more recently in Rehoboth Beach, she volunteered for the Read Aloud Delaware program, Meals on Wheels, and other organizations that were near and dear to her heart. She was an avid reader who loved travelling the world; she had a green thumb and created beautiful flower gardens. She blessed her family by instilling in them life values they will always cherish. Mrs. Robson shared a long life with her children and will be greatly missed by them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert K. Robson and her sister, Dorothy H. Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Allison Bateman and husband Bernard of Rehoboth Beach; two sons: Gary Robson and wife Nancy of Galena, MD and Bruce Robson and wife Susan of Salisbury, MD; six grandchildren: Mathew Robson, Abigail Robson, Erica Kile and husband David, Janey Robson, Will Robson and Courtney Bateman; and her brother, Howard Henderson and wife Rita of Greenwich, CT. The family wishes to acknowledge their debt of gratitude to Josephine Dean for the loving care and friendship she provided to Mrs. Robson for many years.
