Jane W. Graham's Obituary
Jane W. Graham, 96, of Lewes, Delaware, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 while a resident of Cadbury at Lewes. She was born in Wilmington on January 18, 1914 to Minnie and William T. White. Her brother William Turner White II preceded her in death.
Jane married H. Victor Graham, a DuPont executive and, upon retirement, they moved to Lewes. They had been married for 64 years when Mr. Graham died in 1995. Jane was a devoted wife to Victor and a loving mother to her four daughters, a grandmother to eight grandchildren, and “Great Mommy” to her twelve great grandchildren.
Jane was very giving and was known for her warm personality and her winning smile. She loved people and always wanted to be helpful to both old and new friends. She enjoyed contributing her time and talents to the needs of various church efforts. She has been active in the church communities of St. James Episcopal Church, Newport, Immanuel Episcopal Church, Wilmington, and St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Lewes. Jane and the Graham family have lived and been active in the Lewes community for almost 80 years. She was a long-time member of the Lewes Yacht Club.
She is survived by her daughters: Carolyn McCarty of Lancaster, PA, Barbara Tucker, wife of J. Richard Tucker of Greenville, DE, Jane Coley, wife of Stephen C. Coley of Winnetka, IL and Vero Beach, FL, and Nancy West, wife of Carl G. West of Kansas City, MO. Her grandchildren include: Victoria Myers (Max) of Harrisburg, PA, Kimberly Zielinski (Michael) of Lemoyne, PA, Kayte Tucker of Wilmington, DE, Graham Tucker (Diana) of Berea, OH, Craig Coley (Heather) of Bloomington, IN, Heather Schaefer (Sam) of Winnetka, IL, Elizabeth Elling (Brad) of Kansas City, MO, and Julie Tapp (Matthew) of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Second Street, Lewes, DE. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Lewes, DE.
