Jane Elizabeth Charters, 77, of Lewes, DE, peacefully passed away on May 12, 2025. Jane was born on May 17, 1947, in Washington, DC, and was the oldest child of Charles U. Tretler, Sr. and Henrietta E. Tretler. She is survived by Read Obituary
Jane took me under her wing when we moved to Senators Community and introduced me to Bunco, The Water Warriors, Baby Beebee's hat making and then introduced me Sussex Academy Swimming. I loved her honesty and a way of telling you if you were right or wrong. She was a fighter and a role model for all us at the Academy deep swim classes. Blessings to the family and she will be missed but not forgotten.
Jane and I sang and danced together on the Dream Team for Lewes In Bloom for a few years. This picture was from our skit on October 2023. We always had such a fun time. Great memories sharing it with Jane!
Jane was a valued member of the Senators neighborhood, handling money for the Social Committee and Bunco nights. I will not be able to play Mah Jongg or Bunco again without thinking of Jane. May she Rest In Peace.
Jane was a dedicated volunteer for the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. She will be dearly missed!
