Mr. Jan Barrett Woodman, of Alexandria, Virginia, and Lewes, Delaware, passed away at age 83 on November 14, 2018, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 7, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, adopted son of the late M Read Obituary
Jan was my Hill School classmade and we maintained an active friendship until his move to the beach. I was sad to hear the news via letter from Hill School and regretted it came too late to attend the memorial. I do ask that someone notify me when his Arlington arrangements are complete.

I cut Jan’s hair for the last many years. We had each other laughing telling stories of our lives. He could be so funny yet serious as well. I saw him 3 days before he left for Arlington. Jan, you had an increasingly rough year health wise. May you Rest In Peace my friend.
Jan will remain high on my list of Favorite Brother Rats, because of his personality, his presence, loyalty and devotion to the Institute....My heart gores out to his Family, and may he rest in Peace....

I am sorry that a prior commitment will keep me from attending Jan's memorial on Dec, 2nd. Jan and my husband George were such good friends who liked and respected one another. Jan was a good friend to me, too. He sat with me on his last Sunday at Epworth.
I am happy that he was able to spend his final days with his family before he went to join George at a board meeting. I am sure that between the two of them they are getting things organized in heaven. My sincerest condolences, Paula Simpson
