Jan Holly Callaway's Obituary
Jan Holly Callaway, age 57, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 25, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Bridgeville, DE, the daughter of Warren H. Callaway and Jannetta Callis Callaway.
Miss Callaway was a 1972 graduate of Woodbridge High School, received her LPN from Del Tech Community College, and continued on to Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, SC where she received her BA in Culinary Arts. Following graduation, Miss Callaway took a position as a Chef Professor at Johnson and Wales for several years. While in Charleston, she also worked as an artist and painter, utilizing her talents in the historic homes of Charleston. In 2007, she returned to Bridgeville to be with her parents.
Her many hobbies included Collage Art, writing poetry, and custom Barbie doll dress design.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Sina H. Callaway-Rosales and her husband, Abel Rosales of Preston, MD; her brother, Eric H. Callaway and his wife Kathy Kiernan Callaway of Seaford, DE; two nephews, Phillip Callaway and Gregory Callaway and a niece, Bethany Callaway, all of Seaford, DE.
Respects may be paid to the family on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel. Interment will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at Oak Grove, DE.
