James Joseph Skowyra's Obituary
James Joseph Skowyra, 78, of Bridgeville, DE passed January 6, 2025 in Seaford DE. Born in Ware, MA, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Mertzic) Skowyra.
Mr. Skowyra worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud reservist of the Army National Guard and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Skowyra was a parishoner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington, DE and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving is his wife, Kathleen Elizabeth (DeSantis) Skowyra. 2 sons: Wayne M. Skowyra of Middletown, DE and Joseph P. Skowyra of Binghamton, NY. Mr. Skowyra will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Hardesty Chapel, 202 S. Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE 19933. A viewing will take place at 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mr. Skowyra's memory to the Crisis Emergency Shelter, 110 N. Railroad Ave., Georgetown, DE 19947 or Shepard's Office Ministries, 408 N. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
