James Short's Obituary
James Lank Short, age 78, of Lewes, DE died Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Mr. Short was born in Lewes on July 17, 1927 son of the late Herman C. and Elizabeth Lank Short.
He graduated from Lewes High School, served in the U.S. Navy, then graduated from the University of Delaware as a chemical engineer.
Mr. Short worked in Philadelphia, Chicago and northern New Jersey areas. He then returned to Delaware, where he retired from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Maull) Short; a daughter and son-in-law, Shellace Ann and Todd A. Williams and a grandson, Charles A. Williams, all of Frankford, DE; a sister, Ann Short; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Carol Short; many nieces and nephews throughout San Francisco, New York and New Castle; and cousins in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
Graveside services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, September 28, in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Coolspring Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 36, Harbeson, DE 19951.
