James William Sheppard's Obituary
James "Bro" W. Sheppard, Sr. of Lewes, Delaware was the son of the late Virginia Brickhouse of Chestertown, MD. He departed his life on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at home, peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Phyllis. Born in Exmore, VA, “Bro” as his family and friends often called him was a loving and caring man. He cherished the time he spent with his children and especially his grandchildren.
Bro formed many bonds of friendship especially at the Division of Soil and Water Conservation where he gave over 30 years of service as a State of Delaware employee. He finally decided to retire in 2006 and enjoy what life had to offer. You could often see him driving through Belltown and Lewes with his ice cold Pepsi-Cola. Bro was also praised by his children and grandchildren for the rice pudding recipe he made so great.
Bro was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Brickhouse; two brothers: Walter Sheppard of Baltimore, MD and Clifton Brickhouse of Monticello, NY.
In his sunset he leaves to mourn his loving wife Phyllis Sheppard of Lewes, DE; children of this union: James Sheppard Jr. and wife Tornita of Lewes, DE, Sonya Sheppard and husband Mark of Coolspring, DE, Anthony Sheppard, Zelda Sheppard, and Taneisha Sheppard of Lewes, DE; Prentice Perry and wife Georgia of Milton, DE; Warren Perry and wife Theresa of Bridgeville, DE.
