James William Prech's Obituary
James William Prech, age 82, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 . He was born in Canton, OH, on February 28, 1941, son of the late Myron Prech and Carol (Henninger) Prech.
Mr. Prech was a graduate of Purdue University where he had received his degree in Business. He began his career with the New York Life Insurance Company working in sales in the New York City area then moving to the Washington, DC area. Mr. Prech moved up to management and at the time of his retirement after 30 years of service he was a Washington Group Field Marketing office manager. He was an avid billiards player and card player and enjoyed gambling with both. Traveling all over with his wife of 30 years, Riley Carol Prech, provided them with many great memories. Above all, Mr. Prech treasured time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, stepfather, and grandfather. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three stepdaughters, Dana Shade (David), Salisbury, MD, Donna Arbogast (Rodney), Federalsburg, and Erin Schaeffer (Kurt), Knoxville, MD: 5 Step-Grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE , where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM.
