James Barclay Phillips ll's Obituary
James Barclay Phillips, II, age 63 of Lewes, DE passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, He was born on September 2, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late James and Jane Phillips.
James moved to Lewes with his parents when he was 17 years old. He was big hearted and vibrant, and radiated with light. He accepted everyone with an open heart and open arms. His true love of boats and “rescuing” them manifested into a lifelong career. Eventually, James became the proud owner of Phillips Marine Service LLC for over 20 years. He had many hobbies including: cooking, shucking oysters, participating in Punkin Chunkin, camping, and just tinkering around. James was also a member of the American Legion, Post 17. Being a caring and big-hearted soul, James was an animal lover, taking in and loving his 5 cats and 2 dogs. His departure will be deeply felt by his entire family and community.
James is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Monica Rae Phillips; his stepdaughters Meredith Rhoads, and Michelle Rust; his cousins, Allen Phillips (Sarah) and J.R. Gray. Perry Summers Who James took under his wing at a very young age.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, 19958.
