James Moreland Mozingo, Jr. (aka Pop, Moe, Daddy Moe, Jim, Jimmy), age 82, of Frankford, DE, passed away January 30, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. James was born on May 6, 1942, in Washington, DC. He grew up in Southeast Washington, DC, where he met the love of his life, Joyce Ann Mozingo. They married on January 14, 1961, and enjoyed 64 years of wedded bliss. They had four children together: Michael, Alan, Tammy, and William.
James was a retired sheet metal journeyman with Sheet Metal Workers Local 100, and had owned his own business, Mozingo and Sons. James and Joyce moved to Frankford, Delaware, in 2005 for retirement. Jim loved his family and had special bonds with so many. Jim was always active and enjoyed tinkering around the house. He loved fishing, especially on the beach with family and friends. He loved singing and playing his guitar. Telling stories, helping neighbors. He had a rare gift of making others smile and laugh.
Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joyce Ann Mozingo; son, Michael Mozingo (Trish); son, Alan Mozingo (Pam); daughter, Tammy Mozingo; and son, William Mozingo (Amy). Joyce and Jimmy have eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by two sisters: Joyce Mozingo Powell and Janet Mozingo; and brother Ronald Mozingo.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (McDaniel) Mozingo; his father, James Moreland Sr.; and his brother, William Mozingo.
