James Daniel Milam's Obituary
“Dan” James Daniel Milam, age 81, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 2023, with his family by his side. Born on October 11, 1941, in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late Earl and Ethel (Wines) Milam.
After graduating high school, Dan answered the call to serve his country and he enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving from 1959 until 1962. During his service he attended the Naval Electronics School. This training would serve Dan well, as he enjoyed a lengthy career as a service engineer for X-Ray equipment in the Radiology field. It was a career that saw many changes through the years, and he enjoyed the challenges and was very fulfilled in his career. He had a lifelong love of Corvettes and was a member of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS), serving as a judge of Engine compartments from 1970 to 1972 at NCRS competitions. Dan’s love of cars was no match for the love he had for his family and the time spent with those he held dear was what he cherished most. Dan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy, at age 13, and Richard, at age 57. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his son, Donald Milam (Beth); his stepsons, James Morris (Jennifer) and Andrew Morris (Nickie), and his granddaughter, Caroline Morris.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
