James Richard McKenna's Obituary
James Richard McKenna, age 78, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware.
Born March 19, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, he was a loving husband of 56 years, a devoted father and grandfather, and a devoted friend to all who knew him. He was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War as an artillery 1st Lieutenant. Over the years he worked as an electrician at various commercial bakeries. During his free time and during retirement he was a school bus driver and he found enjoyment over the years golfing, fishing, bowling, going to the beach and casinos. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Gaudioso McKenna, of Millsboro, DE; and his son, Todd Joseph McKenna, of Levittown, PA.; his daughter Michele Bonaccurso of Delran, New Jersey and two grandchildren, Dylan and Cara.
James will be remembered for the warmth and humor he brought to family gatherings and everyday life.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
Also a celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, February 15th, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 313 Main Street Hulmeville PA 19047
All family and friends are welcome to come join us at the hall located behind the Church.
Committal rites with Army Honors will be held on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966
