James Mancuso's Obituary
James R. Mancuso, age 93, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Renaissance Healthcare and Rehab Center in Millsboro, DE. He was born September 23, 1914 in Wishaw, PA, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Ricca) Mancuso.
Mr. Mancuso served as a Tech Sergeant with the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 of Rehoboth Beach and VFW Post # 7447 of Rehoboth Beach. He was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church and Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge # 2540. He enjoyed wood working and gardening.
Mr. Mancuso is survived by his wife, Mary (Kathas) Mancuso; two sons, John A. Mancuso of Rehoboth Beach and James R. Mancuso, Jr. of Destin, FL; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Alice Lynn Mancuso of Reynoldsville, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, John A. Mancuso, Jr. (1992) and his daughter-in-law, Diane Mancuso (earlier this week).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 11:00 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, DE Route 1 at Five Points, Lewes, where friends may call at the church one hour prior to Mass. Interment with military honors will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163.
