Mr Powell was a great friend of my family especially Sue and Dick Buckley. He was a great man who gave so much to others. My thoughts are with Mrs Powell and family. I Hope you can find peace in all the memories of a great life that your father, grandfather, husband and brother lived!
From day 1, when we moved into Governors, we knew Jim had that "zest for life" from his love of family, his sports endeavors, and his many teaching and coaching accomplishments. His memory will be with us, burning brightly, and inspire us to enjoy each day we are lucky to be here, neighbors with the talented Powell Family, lovingly lead by Kay. We send our deep regrets to the family. Jim and Julie Smith
I am shocked as Jim should have lived forever and he will in our hearts and memories
What a great smile and laugh always a joy to be around
He loved my wife’s pepperoni rolls

coach Powell was my PE teacher for 5 years and football coach my sr.yr{Fall 71} and good friend after that.... great man and great teacher....scholastic and life teacher....R.I.P. Coach....
Our thoughts are with the Powell family during this difficult time. Although I had not seen Mr. Powell in years, he was a positive influence on me and thousands of others who attended CR. He will be missed, but he will always be remembered.
I have many fond memories of lifting weights with Mr. Powell in his class. He was a great teacher and was always fun to be around! RIP!
