James Egan Jenkins, Sr.'s Obituary
James Egans Jenkins Sr. age 90, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born on January 10, 1928 in Hamilton, VA, son of the late James E. Jenkins and Pearl M. (Hawes) Jenkins.
Mr. Jenkins made his career at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, from which he retired in 1986 after 37 years. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling. Mr. Jenkins was a Past Master of the Chillum Castle Masonic Lodge in MD as well as a Tall Cedars of Lebanon member.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jenkins in 2002. He is survived by his son, James E. Jenkins, Jr. and his wife Sandi of Mechanicsville, MD; two grandchildren, Jennifer Jenkins of Iowa and Jaime Jenkins of Mechanicsville, MD; and his beloved labradoodle, Sterling.
A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 32409 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
