James R. Hackett's Obituary
James Robert (J.R.) Hackett, age 63, of Laurel, Delaware, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2011, at home in the loving care of his family. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 29, 1948, son of the late Harrison and Pinkie Hackett. He was preceded in death by sisters Ruthie Sadler and Elsie Walters; and brother-in-law Oscar Walters, Sr.
James inspired family and friends to be good to their neighbors, strive for success and keep hope alive. J.R. enjoyed spending time fishing, cooking for his family, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles. A devoted loving family man, J.R. viewed his proudest achievement as being the “World’s Best Pop-Pop.”
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Ramona Hackett; daughter Semia Hackett; son Kyal Hackett wife Rebecca; three grandchildren Brijea, Devon and Carter; sisters Nancy Thorton husband Richard and Celia Burton husband Joseph; brother Craig Hackett; brother-in-law Philip Sadler; sister-in-law Sharren Shoemaker husband Robert; and, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will celebrate a private memorial and interment.
