So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to you and your family.
Jim was a true colleague. We shared an office in Kittanning for much of the 1990s, and I recall wonderful discussions and enlightening arguments on all sorts of interesting ideas. Most of all we laughed a lot about everything because his interests and knowledge
were so broad. Difficult to believe he is no longer with us. I shall always think of our days teaching together at Kitty U. with fondness. My condolences to Deb and both families for their loss.
Dr. Gibson was an inspiring teacher who mixed intellect with humility and humor; I have many fond memories of his teaching. My condolences.
Jim was one of the best teachers and mentors I've ever had. He will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his family.
I worked with Jim for many years at IUP. To say this is a sad shock is a huge understatement. Like Alison, I have fond memories of Jim's booming voice, awakening the hall and always spreading positive vibes. Jim never took himself seriously. He was always ready for a talk and a joke and made our Dept a more humane place. But he always took his work and his students seriously. He wasn't just an inspiring teacher, but a wonderful mentor to so many students who were changed for the better because they had the chance to know him. When I think of Jim and also of Deb, I remember generosity of spirit above all else. My deepest condolences to Deb and Jim's whole family.
