So sorry for your loss. Jim was such a great person. We graduated from Red Lion High School together in 1973.
So sorry to hear this. Did Jim graduate from Red Lion Area Senior High? Thank you.
I was very to sorry to hear this. I was just informed by another auctioneer that Mr. Jim had passed. I know he was into and knew corvettes but also very knowledgble in restaurants and auctions. Anyone could learn something from Jim, if he knew it, he would share it. It was a pleasure knowing him. Till we meet again my friend, Sean Z
My cousin Paul was a friend of Jim's, and when I told Paul that I was interested in buying an older Corvette, he told me to contact his buddy Jim who knew virtually everything there was to know about Corvettes. This was in 2008. What I didn't know then was that I would meet and get to know such a terrific friend for the last 13 years. Jim was such a nice guy, always willing to help someone, always making a "deal" at the Carlisle car shows, and of course always willing to tell a joke - there's almost too many to remember. We went on a trip together in 2009 to Ohio to find a Corvette for me, and it was one of the best times I've ever had. He had so much knowledge to share. Over the years I brought the car to his garage and he always had time to work on something with me or show me how to fix it myself. So many good times at Carlisle over the years! I was amazed at how many people he knew there. It seemed like we couldn't walk 50 feet without him bumping into somebody he knew. He treated his customers very well, and everyone was always happy to see him. I met so many of Jim's friends over the years - Jeff, Bob, and Bill just to name a few. When my cousin was sick a few years back, he came up to Carlisle to share an afternoon with Jim and I. We sat around drinking a few beers and listening to them tell old "war stories" about their youth in York PA was priceless. I will miss Jim tremendously, and going to the Carlisle car shows will never be the same without him. But when I think about Jim, he will forever bring a smile to my face and a happy memory to think about. That would make him happy! God bless Jim and Greta and their friends and family.

I had the good fortune to meet Jim a few years ago at the Carlisle Corvette event, and spent time with him at several shows there after. It didn't take long before I felt Jim was friend. Every time I was with Jim it was inevitable I would learn something about cars and restorations, especially Corvettes. Jim was very generous with his knowledge and resources. People often sought his insight and advice at the shows.
Two years ago, a high schooler that made signs out of car parts showed Jim his work, and Jim was so impressed he gave him more parts to use than he could carry.
The other thing was Jim's sense of humor which was always quick and at the ready.
Just a few weeks ago my brother in law and I went to Jim's shop to help him get parts together for this year's show. It was obvious Jim was not feeling well, but before I departed that day, he still managed to teach me about Corvettes one more time. And of course he brought the smiles out when he retold a story about a joke he pranked me with a few years ago.
It was an absolute privilege to have known Jim, and only wish I knew him longer.
God Bless Greta and Jim's family.

Jimmy will be missed by many. Such candor and an original sense of humor. He was a long time buddy through all the years in the bar and restaurant industry in York and here at the beach area. Have a BUD for us and prayers and blessings to Diane and the Gibson family.
