James I. Cogswell, 86
James I. Cogswell, 86, of Georgetown, Delaware, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Delaware.
He was born Sunday, April 15, 1923 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late James W. Cogswell and Myrtle F. (Jones) Cogswell.
He was a molder at the foundry at the U.S. Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. for many years until that facility closed down, then he worked as a supervisor at the foundry at the Naval Research Lab at the Bolling Air Force Base in the District of Columbia until his ultimate retirement. He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan, an avid reader and a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes, Delaware.
Mr. Cogswell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ethel May (Sullivan) Cogswell; two daughters: Judi Kay and her husband Bob of Weyers Cave, VA and Nancy Kossow and her husband Michael of Bark River, MI; brother Raymond L. Cogswell and his wife Betty of Georgetown, Delaware; three grandchildren: David A. Reynolds and his wife Jennifer of Phoenix, AZ, Brian W. Kay and his wife Daivie of Louisville, KY and Angela Osterloh and her husband Jim of Green Bay, WI; and four great grandchildren, Elyssa and Hannah Kay and Cole and Allison Osterloh.
There will be no visitation and a Memorial Service will be scheduled for a later date.
