Jaikishin I. Belani's Obituary
Jaikishin I. “Jack” Belani Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday at Encompass Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland.
A retail salesman and entrepreneur with a lifelong love of fashion, Jack founded and operated the Belani Imports clothing store in Philadelphia in the ’80s and ’90s. He was married to Deborah (Calderwood) Belani, a longtime teacher in the Norristown School District, for over 50 years.
Jack grew up in Mumbai, India, where he excelled in running sports and cricket, and worked in Japan as a young adult before moving to the U.S. in 1969, settling in the Norristown area for several decades.
A devoted father of three, Jack retired to Lewes, Delaware, and in his later years took particular pleasure in spending time with grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; children Rachel, Nick, and Jack Jr.; and grandchildren Mira, Avi, and Rian.
