Irene Jean Stephens' Obituary
Irene Jean Stephens, age 70, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at Beebe Medical Center on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. She was born on June 1, 1935 in Rockport, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Irving L. Boudrow and Sylvia H. Boudrow.
Jean had retired from Delmarva Power in 1994 after 25 years of service. She had been active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars serving Post #7447 of Rehoboth and had also served as Department President of the Delaware State Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Horace C. Stephens, Jr., and her children: David Stephens Kelso of New York City; Craig Stephens, Sr. and his fiancée Lisa Brittingham, and daughter Melanie Wingate and her husband Lou; grandchildren Craig Stephens, Jr., Robert Stephens, Joshua Wingate, Andrew Sheppard, Matthew Butcher, Chase Brittingham, and Bailey Wingate all of Lewes, DE.
Funeral Services will be held at Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11:00 am where family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Delaware Division for the Visually Impaired, Herman M Holloway, Sr. Campus, Biggs Building, 1901 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720.
