Inez Winifred Best's Obituary
Inez Winifred (Walls) Best, age 94, of Georgetown, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Cadbury At Lewes, Lewes, DE. She was born September 23, 1916 in Georgetown, the first child of Chester Winfield and Jennie H. (Roach) Walls.
Mrs. Best graduated from Georgetown High School in 1934. She was the office manager of J. G. Townsend, Jr. & Company of Georgetown from 1948 until her retirement in 1985. She married Henry Edwin Best of Smyrna, DE. After their marriage they lived in Dover, DE where he owned a Studebaker dealership. After his death in April of 1944, she returned to Georgetown.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her brother, Chester W. Walls, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters: Inez (Bestie) Ruark and her husband, Joseph W. of Lewes, and Margaret Elizabeth Coleman of Rock Hall, MD; three grandchildren: Kim Williams and husband Henry of Preston, MD, Hank Coleman and wife Leslie of Owings Mills, MD and Karen Simpson and husband Mark of Frederick, MD; four great-grandchildren: Jennie Hannux and husband Shawn of Vermont, Debbie Williams and Elizabeth Williams both of Preston, MD and Noah Simpson of Frederick, MD; and her nephew Thomas Chester Walls of Oak Orchard, DE.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 31, 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, Adams & Race Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Georgetown, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 East Laurel Street, Georgetown, DE 19947.
