Hubert E. Watts' Obituary
Hubert Ernest Watts (US ARMY Ret.), 82, of Georgetown, DE, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was born April 7, 1929 in Flint, MI, son of the late Jack and Hazel Watts.
Mr. Watts served his country for 27 years and was all Army. He served in three wars; WW II, Korea, and four tours in Vietnam. Along his side was his loving wife Elizabeth. Together they raised 10 children. He was a tough guy with hands that were strong yet tender. Mom loved Dad with all of her heart until her passing September 16, 2008.
At the end he was at peace knowing that he would be reunited with his beloved wife. They met at Fort Miles (Lewes) and then traveled all over but he always promised Mom that they would return home (Delaware). Once he retired, Dad kept his promise to Mom and returned home.
In their retirement Mom was able to soften Dad and they were happy. All the good things about Dad were passed on to his children. Each child has a piece of that goodness and when you meet one of his children you will see glimpses of Dad.
When people met Dad, he always put a smile on their faces. He especially loved volunteering at Beebe Hospital where he helped to put smiles on the faces of those in need.
He will be missed by his family but all us know that Mom and Dad are truly home.
Dad is survived by his 10 children; Randy Hughes, Jack Watts, Danielle LaCasse, Michele Wilcox, Renee Watts, Timothy Watts, Kimberly DiNicola, Hubert Watts II, David Watts, and Matthew Watts.
Mr. Watts will be entombed together with his wife on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE with full military honors.
Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
