Howard W. Vizthum's Obituary
Howard W. Vizthum, age 81 of Laurel, DE passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born in the Laureldale section of Mays Landing, NJ on November 10, 1931, son of the late Frederick and Fredericka (Vones) Vizthum.
Mr. Vizthum honorably served with the U. S. Navy and the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge #4 and also Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Laurel.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vizthum was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Vizthum, Charles Vizthum and Donald Vizthum. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rose A. (Mendolia) Vizthum of Laurel, DE; his three daughters: Laurel Silva and her husband Larry of Dunedin, FL, Wendy Laventure and her husband Scott of East Freetown, MA, Anita Burr of Sanford, FL; his step-daughter Linda A. Dennis and fiance Peter Lala of Bridgeton, NJ; his son, Howard W. Vizthum Jr. and his wife Robin of Norwich, CT; his sister, Mary E. Vizthum of Fort Lauderdale, FL and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Road 493A (corner of Sharptown Rt. 24 and Mt. Pleasant Roads), Laurel, DE 19956, where friends may visit beginning at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Vizthum's memory may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
