Howard J. Forwood's Obituary
Howard J. Forwood, age 83, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Bridgeville, DE, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was born January 16, 1926 in rural West Chester, PA, son of the late Howard Miller and Laura (Britten) Forwood.
Mr. Forwood had worked as a self-employed carpenter; he was known for his excellent work in cabinetry. He was a veteran of WW II and a member of the Greenwood VFW Post #7478 and the American Legion Nanticoke Post #6. He was devoted to his dachshunds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty S. Forwood (March 1997). He is survived by three brothers: John and Harley Forwood, both of Pennsylvania and Lewis Forwood of Dover, DE; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 8, 1:00 P.M., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greenwood VFW Post #7478, PO Box 314, Greenwood, DE 19950.
