Hilda H. Best's Obituary
Hilda H. Best, age 86, of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at her home. She was born on September 17, 1928 in Lewes, DE, daughter of the late William Elmer and Ragnhilde Y. (Justvig) Howard.
Mrs. Best enjoyed being active in church ever since she was a child. She had served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She also loved gardening especially taking care of her colorful flowers. Throughout her marriage, Mrs. Best always worked alongside her husband, Thomas, at their family business Thomas Best & Sons. Mrs. Best will be remembered for being a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Best in 2009. She is survived by her two daughters: Barbara E. Best and Carolyn B. Timmons and her husband Gary F.; a son, Randall S. Best and his wife Susan M. all of Lewes, DE; two grandchildren: Jennifer B. Montag and her husband Daniel A. and Andrew S. Best and his wife Colleen K. both of Milton, DE; and four great-grandchildren: Wayne A. Robison of Indianapolis, IN, Jackson T. Best, Sophia G. Montag and Emily S. Montag all of Milton, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, at 10:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow services at the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway Cemetery, 19075 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
