Henry J. Wojtowicz's Obituary
Henry J. Wojtowicz, age 75, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his residence in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was born May 13, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Walter and Tessie (Zasowski) Wojtowicz.
Mr. Wojtowicz was a Catholic priest for more than 30 years serving as an Associate Pastor in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Newark, Hudson and Bergen Counties. He then worked for ten years as a Pastoral Counselor at St. Anne’s Home for the Aged in Jersey City. He earned his undergraduate degree in the classical languages from Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ and he was ordained after completing his studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Edmund and Thaddeus. He is survived by a niece, a nephew, several cousins and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 10, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at Sacred Heart Church, 246 Hudson Place, Cliffside Park, NJ. Friends may call at the following times and places: Friday, October 7, 6:30 to 9:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE; Sunday, October 9, 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisade Avenue, North Bergen, NJ; and on Monday, October 10, 9:30 to 10 AM at the Konopka Funeral Home prior to Mass. Entombment will follow Mass at the Fairview Mausoleum Co. Inc., 501 Bergenwood Road, Fairview, NJ. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
