Henry Joseph Morgereth's Obituary
Henry "Joe" Morgereth, age 75, of Georgetown, DE, Pasadena, MD, and Baltimore City passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 24, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to the late Henry J. and Amelia Morgereth.
Mr. Morgereth was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, the Baltimore City Police Force, Maryland State Police, and 30 years with the National Security Agency (NSA). He was a member of Lewes Moose Lodge #646, American Legion Post #28 in Oak Orchard, and the Maryland State Police Alumni Association.
Mr. Morgereth is survived by his wife Joyce Morgereth; daughters, Gwen Gilliard and her husband Kevin of Pasadena, MD and Jill Knauer and her husband Bryan of Gambrills, MD; stepdaughter, Dawn Powers and her husband Tim of Pasadena, MD; step-son, Mike Hood of Dumfries, VA; four grandchildren, Caroline Gilliard, Kyle Gilliard, Grace Knauer, and Ellie Knauer; and three step grandchildren, Morgan Hood, Taylor Hood, and Ryan Hood; as well as many friends in Delaware, Maryland, and Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Derek Grant Morgereth (2/1/69-8/21/87).
A Chapel service will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008, 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Chaplin James Lafferty will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Georgetown, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
