Henry J. Kalinowsky's Obituary
Henry J. Kalinowsky , age 90, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at, Brandywine Assisted Living. He was born in Cardale, PA, on April 12, 1921, son of the late Gottlieb Kalinowsky and Ada Haftmann Kalinowsky. He was preceded in death by three wives, Mildred Lavin Kalinowsky in 1995, Grace Lovell Kalinowsky in 1998 and Anne T. McDevitt in 2010.
Mr. Kalinowsky retired in 1989 after more than 50 years service to the Philadelphia District Carpenters Union.
He was a member of St. Edmonds Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus; was a member of the Rehoboth Beach VFW post 7447 and the American legion Post # 5 and had served in the US ARMY with service on Normandy Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. He was an avid horseshoe player and was a member of the "Old Geezer's Club".
He is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth Kalinowsky and Regina Skiles; four sons: Henry, Robert, Jim, and Matthew Kalinowsky all of PA; one brother, George Kalinowsky of OH; two sisters: Betty Roth of NC and Marie Baker of PA.; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 42, Nassau, DE 19969 or St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
