Henry (Al) Madeksza's Obituary
Henry (Al) Madeksza, age 89, of Lewes, DE passed away at his residence on Monday, December 16, 2019. He was born Tuesday, July 15, 1930 in Bridgewater, MA, son of the late Walter and Helen Madeksza.
Al proudly served in the United States Army. He made his career as a transportation manager for chemical corporations.
Throughout his life, Al was involved in numerous civic and community organizations, including serving as a vestry member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a board member of West Rehoboth Community Land Trust. After retirement he and his wife traveled extensively Al was an avid bridge player and enjoyed poker games with friends. A jazz aficionado he also loved boating, from Sunfish sail boats to pontoons. One of his favorite pastimes was hosting dinner parties for family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife, Joan Madeksza of Lewes, DE; daughter, Michele Madeksza and her husband Glenn Krasker of Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, DE; sons: Matthew Madeksza and his wife Cindy Ran of Wayne, PA, and Todd Madeksza and his wife Terry of Flagstaff, AZ; and grandchildren: Maya Krasker of Dover, Zachary Madeksza and Alex Madeksza of Wayne and Charlie and Reagan Madeksza of Flagstaff.
Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Al’s name to the West Rehoboth Community Land Trust (WRCLT), P.O. Box 633, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware 19971.
