Helen Ethel Vargo's Obituary
Helen Ethel Vargo, age 92, of Milton, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Born on July 15, 1930, in Garfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Bettes) Torkos.
A native of the Garden State, Helen was born and raised in Garfield and spent the majority of her life in NJ, also having lived in Elmwood Park and Kinnelon. She met and married the love of her life, Bela Vargo and the two of them would create a beautiful family and life together. Helen was a proud homemaker and she create a warm, loving, and nurturing home for Bela and their four children. Her faith was an anchor in her life, and she was a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Helen’s heart was for her family, and one of the ways that she expressed that love was through the delicious meals that she cooked, often spending hours in the kitchen. Her grandchildren captured her heart and she loved to spend time with them as much as possible. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bela Vargo, her son, William Vargo and her daughter, Claire Baldanzi. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Golden and her husband, Frank, her son, Steve Vargo and his wife, Debbie; her grandchildren, Jaclyn, Stefanie, and her fiancé Phillip Fontes, Samantha, Victoria, Zachary; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver, and Noah.
