Helen S. Myers' Obituary
Helen (Schillen) Myers, age 82, of Lewes, DE, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was born June 26, 1924 in Roanoke, VA, daughter of the late Noah and Oakey (Wood) Schillen.
Mrs. Myers moved to Delaware 25 years ago from Wheaton, MD. She was the current President and member of the National Association of Homemakers and the United Methodist Women's Association. She belonged to Conley's United Methodist Church. She was very creative; she painted china; loved to play bridge; and was a member of the Stitch & Bitch Sewing Group in the Angola area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie R. Myers (2005); a son, William Ray Myers (2004); two brothers; and a sister.
She is survived by her son Thomas T. Myers and his wife Nancy Astrove-Myers of Germantown, MD; a daughter, Catherine Ann Treadway of Houston, TX; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Myers of Germantown, MD; three grandchildren, Travis Myers of CA, Stephen Myers and his wife Cynthia of Keedysville, MD, and Heather Stone and her husband Steve of Mt. Airy, MD; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sydnee and Kassidy Myers and Anabelle, Bryan and Chloe Stone.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2007, 1 PM, at Conley's United Methodist Church, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, DE with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Entombment will be private at Delaware Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Conley's U. M. Church Building Fund, at the above noted address.
