Hatsuko Heuring's Obituary
Hatsuko Heuring, age 90, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. She was born March 23, 1932, in Naha Okinawa, Japan, daughter of the late Yoshimori Yamashiro and Haruko Goya Yamashiro.
Hatsuko was known as Momasan to her family and Cookie to her friends. She met her husband USAF TSGT Clarence “Al” Heuring while he was stationed in Japan. The two were married in Tokyo, Japan on June 12, 1959. Her husband was restationed to the United States, and she worked diligently on her naturalization. On May 1, 1968, she became a U.S. Citizen, of which she was very proud. Hatsuko and her husband started a family, and she took great care to create a warm, loving, and nurturing home for them. She enjoyed travel and teaching her children about their Japanese heritage. Above all, the time spent with those she held most dear was what she most cherished. Hatsuko was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Hatsuko was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence Alvin Heuring; her sister-in-law, Joyce Valeria Heuring Westrich, and her niece, Diane M. Westrich Mueller. She is survived by her two sons: Glenn T. Heuring (Kellie) of Lewes, DE, and Timothy G. Heuring (Shelley) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; her grandchildren, William T. Heuring (Emily) of Georgetown, DE and Alexis R. Heuring of New York, NY; her Westrich nieces and nephews, Sharon Call (Don), of Cape Girardeau, MO, Mary Sue Conrad (Neil) of Jackson, MS, Ruth A. Parks (Jon) of Jackson, MS, John W. Westrich of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Robert S. Westrich of St. Louis, MO.
