Harvey Husbands' Obituary
Harvey Harold Husbands, age 82, of Lewes, DE died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Husbands was a lifelong resident of Chadds Ford, PA, relocating to Lewes, DE in 1969. He was the son of the late Thomas Harrington and Lula Ray (Mousley) Husbands. Mr. Husbands was a member of both the Elam Methodist Church in Elam, PA. and the Concord Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. After moving to Lewes, he was the owner and operator of the Breakwater House on Lewes Beach from 1969 to 1984. He had also served as president of the Sportsmans Conservation Club.
Mr. Husbands enjoyed traveling in his motor home, hunting, gardening, the beach, and playing the guitar and banjo. He loved people and was very gregarious and outgoing. He had played semi-pro baseball with Robin Roberts and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Alma (Swanton) Husbands, a daughter-Dr. Susanne Scott & her husband Dr. David Scott of
Los Altos Hills, CA; a son Carl B. Husbands & wife Tatiana of La Ceiba, Honduras; two grandchildren: Carl Harvey Husbands and
Miles Harold Husbands; and a sister Elma Boulden of West Chester, PA.
Services will be private and interment will take place at a later date at Chester Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, PA.
