Harry George Wright's Obituary
Harry George Wright, Jr., age 77, of Lewes, DE, passed away Monday, November 6, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mr. Wright had been employed by General Motors of Wilmington, DE for 35 years where he worked as Supervisor of the Body Shop. He is fondly remembered for all the GM athletic teams he organized over the years.
He was the greatest fisherman in the world besides his grandson, Jake. He was also an Army veteran of World War II. He was active in the DAV, the American Legion and the Delaware Club of Florida.
Pappy delighted in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was devoted to his long time companion Norma D'Alesio.
In addition to Norma, he is survived by his seven children, John, Bill, Conne, Terrie, Fred, David and Anne Marie; three step-children, Elizabeth, Michael and Donna; 26 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark George Wright.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 13, 11 AM, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, DE Rt. 1 north of Five Points, Lewes. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Post 17, American Legion Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
