Harry Armstrong Gravell Jr.'s Obituary
Harry Armstrong Gravell, Jr. age 67, of Lewes, DE passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare. He was born June 22, 1950 in New Castle, DE, son of the late Harry Armstrong Gravell, Sr. and Clementine (Billingsley) Gravell.
Mr. Gravell graduated from Salesianum High School in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a proud Union Labor Leader and very active with politics. He was a past President of the Delaware Building & Construction Trades Council. He was a long time member & retired Business Agent for Local Union 669 Sprinklerfitters. Most recently, Mr. Gravell worked part time at ATI.
In his spare time, Mr. Gravell enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cooking, traveling, reading, going to the beach and eating out at local restaurants. He enjoyed music and coffee but especially having wine and cheese on the front porch with his Jenny. But most of all, he adored spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gravell was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Gravell and his brothers in law Dale Willis and Rick Duncan, Jr.. He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Jenifer (Duncan) Gravell of Lewes, DE; his daughters, Deliah Brantley and her husband Steven, Jr. of Smyrna, DE and Jayme Gravell of Smyrna, DE; his grandchildren, Makayla, Avery and Lily; his brothers, John Gravell and his wife Donna and Brian Gravell and his wife Cindy; his sisters Marianne Acord and her husband Jerry and Carol Willis; his in laws, John R. Duncan Sr. and Filomena M. Duncan of Wilmington, DE; his brother in law, William Scott Duncan and his wife Christina; his sister in law Dena Duncan; and many nieces and nephews.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Interment will be private at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
