Rev. Harry N. Collins' Obituary
Rev. Harry N. Collins, Jr., age 82, of Lewes, DE passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 after a long battle with lung cancer at Cadbury at Lewes. He was born on July 27, 1932 in Camden, NJ, son of the late Harry N. Sr. and Edith (Mills) Collins.
Rev. Harry graduated from Glassboro State College at Glassboro, NJ, from which he received his Bachelor's and Master's degree. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
On March 29, 1954, he married Joan Beauchamp. Rev. Harry would become a Mason and as a result a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory in Collingswood, NJ.
Starting in 1958, he worked as an elementary school teacher in Medford Lakes, NJ.
From 1969 to 1994, Rev. Harry worked at the Clearview Regional Junior High in Gloucester County, NJ as a Teacher. In 1969, Rev. Harry became an Episcopal Minister serving in the New Jersey area, until he retired to Lewes, DE in 2004. Rev. Harry and Joan were summer residents in Joy Beach, DE starting in 1976 and became permanent residents in 2004, before moving to Cadbury at Lewes in 2013.
Rev. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan B. Collins; children: Harry S. Collins and his wife Mari of Papillion, NE, Brenda Culbert and her husband Jim of Mt. Wolf, PA and Kevin Collins and his companion Kay Cashman of Stafford, VA; a brother, Bruce Collins and his wife Carrie of Morton, PA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road at Route 23, Harbeson, DE 19951, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the Services at the adjacent All Saints Churchyard.
