Harriet Bishop Gorman's Obituary
Harriet Bishop Gorman, age 90 of Wayne, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, at her son's home in Millsboro, DE. She was born on Wednesday, April 4, 1928 in Haskell, NJ, daughter of the late Harry and Jenny (Picarelli) Farese.
Mrs. Gorman was a graduate of Butler High School in Butler, NJ. She worked for the Wayne Board of Education for many years, before working as an underwriter for State Farm insurance in Wayne, NJ, a career which spanned more than 25 years. Mrs. Gorman enjoyed traveling and was an avid sports fan, cheering especially for the Dodgers and the Mets. She was also a devoted fan of Wayne Valley Sports Athletics and loved watching her son coach their football team. Mrs. Gorman adored her grandchildren, and she cherished time spent with them. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gorman was preceded in death by her husbands: Edward Bishop and Joseph Gorman; and her sisters: Connie Jones and Rosemary Tobacco. She is survived by her son, Robert Bishop and his wife Lorene, of Millsboro, DE; her grandchildren: Tracey Bishop of Richmond, CA, Boyd Bishop and his wife Ashley, of Hawthorne, CA, Christopher Bishop and his companion Visnja Karanovic, of Santa Monica, CA, Robert Bishop Jr. and his wife Brittany of Hoboken, NJ, and Woodrow Bishop of Millsboro, DE; her great-grandchildren: Madison Bishop and Hudson Bishop, both of Hawthorne, CA; her sister, Stephanie Ryburn of Alhambro, CA; and her companion, Joseph Garamella of Caldwell, NJ.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Gorman's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
