Harold McKee Wenner, Jr.'s Obituary
Harold McKee Wenner Jr., 83, passed away on April 23, 2026. Born on January 17, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harold M. Wenner Sr. and Florence Baumann Wenner.
“Hal” grew up in Philadelphia and attended John Bartram High School. He went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964, an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline, loyalty, and dedication. Following his military service, Hal built a successful career in manufacturing. He rose to the position of Vice President of Manufacturing at Sunroc Corporation in Dover, Delaware, where he was respected for his leadership, work ethic, and commitment to excellence.
Hal made his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he enjoyed the coastal life and the company of family and friends. A proud Philadelphian at heart, he remained a lifelong, devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, taking great enjoyment in following his teams over the years. Above all, Hal was devoted to his beloved wife, Beverly Wenner, with whom he shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was a lasting example of love and partnership.
In addition to his parents, Hal was preceded in death by his treasured wife Beverly, and his siblings, Elaine, Betty Elaine, Dorothy, and Frederick.
Hal is survived by his daughters, Laureen Smailer (Steven) and Holly Evans (Vincent); his cherished grandchildren, Steven Smailer, Grant Evans, Luke Smailer, and Lyndsey Smailer, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Harold’s memory to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (https://www.mcsf.org), in honor of his service and enduring commitment to his fellow Marines.
