Harold Alexander Sheets Jr.'s Obituary
Harold Alexander Sheets Jr., age 65, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Easton, MD, on Thursday, September 13, 1951 son of the late Harold A Sheets, Sr. and Elsie Sheets.
In 1969, Mr. Sheets graduated as his class valedictorian at Colonel Richardson in Federalsburg. In his career as office manager he was a dedicated and loyal employee at Comfort, Inc. from 1973 to 1988 and at George Sherman Corporation from November of 1988 until his passing.
His community life included being a member on the Woodbridge School District Board from 1991-1998, and held the presidency in 1996 and 1997. He was also a member of the School Board at the Jefferson School in Georgetown, DE where he served as Treasurer from July of 2005 until June of 2014.
Some of the greatest blessings and pleasures in his life was traveling with his wife around the Caribbean, Ireland, and the East Coast of the United States from Maine to the Caribbean.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sheets is preceded in death by his brother, Gary Sheets. Mr. Sheets is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Patricia (Merritt) Sheets; his children, Suzanne Smith, Kevin Sheets, Nancy Kralik and husband Carl, and Jennifer Sheets; his grandchildren: Jazmyne, Mya and Couri Smith, Lyndsey and Peyton Sheets, Emily and Scott Kralik, and Jalen and Mason Powell; his siblings: Shirley Mattox, Glenn Lee Seacrest, and Donna Towers and husband Wayne.
Funeral Services will be held this Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N Laws St, Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends may call beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow services at Bridgeville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Sheets' name to Woodbridge School District, ATTN: Superintendent’s Office, 16359 Sussex Highway, Bridgeville, DE 19933 or to the Jefferson School, 22051 Wilson Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
